This is the 10-year anniversary of the OPC Foundation. I'm very pleased with the adoption and the support that we have had from both the OPC members and nonmembers over the last 10 years. We clearly have set the mark with respect to providing the technology and vendors building products truly demonstrating the commitment to interoperability at the end-users have come to expect.
I'm starting to use a blog to begin the process of communicating some of the things are going on with respect to the activities and projects associated with the OPC foundation. My style of writing will be rambling thoughts. I want this to be a bidirectional channel for members and nonmembers to communicate back to me and to others about the vision and direction of the OPC foundation.
I've said many many times that my whole philosophy is that OPC measures success by the level of adoption. I'm not interested in developing specifications that are not worth the paper they're printed on.
What I am interested in is collaborating with organizations and vendors in the interest of solving the critical interoperability problems.
More ramblings to come.
