Ramblings from your President......

Thanks Eric for kicking the OPC TAC blog off.  I’m in between flights on the way to Germany and wanted to take the chance to post some ramblings.   (I’m in California and Seattle next week then back to Europe the following week.)   I just wanted to stress that for OPC, our success is measured by the level of adoption of the technology.  I’ve always said we are not interested in developing specifications that are not worth the paper they're printed on.  I believe one of the best strategies for success and to facilitate vendor adoption of the technology is to make the companies an integral part of the process.   That is a big part of the thinking behind creating the Technical Advisory Council.    We need committed leaders to ensure the delivery and deployment of the OPC UA specifications and corresponding multi-platform reference implementations.  Not only that, we need to continue the focus on certification and complete the deliverables for providing quality products that facilitate plug-and-play interoperability of the OPC UA technology to the OPC Foundation members.

We have a solid team of people that are truly dedicated to make sure that we live up to the promises that we have made and are making sure the products that are based on OPC UA are of the highest quality and consistently exceed the end-user expectations for secure reliable interoperability.   I hope you will take the opportunity to hear from the members on this blog, and also take the time to give us your feedback.

Thanks for listening.
